스트리트 뮤지엄, 길거리 축제
 
꼭 외국의 어느 유명한 관광지에서나 즐길 수 있을 것 같은 그런 분위기의 축제가 바로 우리 이웃 골목길에서도 열리고 있다는 사실을 알고 계신가요?
 
서울 중구 필동(구 퇴계로)에 위치한 복합문화예술공간 “예술통”은 도시의 유휴공간을 문화예술공간으로 활용하여 예술가들의 작품 전시, 공연 등을 통하여 사람과 문화가 어울어지는 복합문화단지를 만들어가고 있습니다.
 
바로 이 곳에서 시민들과 예술가들이 함께 즐길 수 있는 “제5회 예술통 골목축제”가 지난 10월 18일부터 20일까지 열렸습니다.
 
짧은 시간 수 많은 예술가들을 만나고 퍼포먼스와 그들의 작품을 볼 수 있는 기회는 그리 흔치 않은데요.
 
DJ, 가수, 연주자들의 공연부터 “밸런싱 아트’, “정승깎기”와 같은 퍼포먼스는 에술통을 찾은 수 많은 시민들과 함께하며 박수갈채를 이어갔습니다.

이번 축제기간 동안 필동의 골목길과 남산한옥마을에 위치한 스트리트 뮤지엄에 작품을 전시한 작가(김혜진 작가, 정다운 작가, 한성필 작가)가 직접 도슨트가 되어 전시된 각 작품들을 설명하는 “작가와의 아투어” 기회도 마련 되었습니다.

이렇게 작품 설명을 들어가며 예술작품에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓힐 수 있는 기회는 일반적인 축제에서는 얻기 힘든 좋은 기회로 비춰집니다.

18일 전야제에서는 축제에 참석한 시민들과 예술인들이 서로 어우러져 무료로 제공된 바비큐와 음료 등을 함께 즐기는 시간을 가졌습니다.
 
사람과 문화가 어우러진 복합문화공간 예술통에서는 도심의 상막한 콘크리트 건물들을 사이에 둔낮선 방문객들이 문화를 공유하고 즐긴다는 공통된 관심사를 통하여 서로 경계를 허물고 있는 모습을 그들의 대화를 통하여 확인 할 수 있었습니다.

비록 비좁은 골목길을 중심으로 펼쳐진 축제였지만, 그 곳은 수 많은 예술가들의 자발적 참여와 후원으로 벌써 5회를 맞이하며 앞으로도 지속, 발전 될 수 있음을 확인 할 수 있었습니다.
 
작은 시작이지만 앞으로 보여주고자 하는 것이 결코 작지 않음을 예감케 하는 것은… 축제의 처음부터 끝까지 마이크를 놓지 않고 현장을 누비고 있는 박동훈 대표(핸즈BTL미디어그룹)의 열정에서 찾아 볼 수도 있었습니다.

지하철 3, 4호선 충무로역 4번 출구를 나와 찾아 볼 수 있는 예술통 골목길은 관심을 가지고 보지 않으면 그냥 지나칠 수 있을 만큼 아직은 잘 알려지지 않았습니다.
 
그러나 무심코 들어서게 되는 이 곳에서 이런 골목길이 있나(?) 하는 생각이 들만한 충분한 자극을 받을 수 있는 새로운 장소가 될 것으로 보입니다.
