과연 우리가 알고 있는…알게 되는 진실은 어떤 것일까요?
정말 있어야 할 그대로의 사실일까요?
내가 인식하고 믿고 있는 사실이 진실이라는 것일까요?
아니면 누구에 의하든 우리가 진실인 것처럼 믿도록 만들어진 내용이 진실인 것일까요?
오늘 소개해 드릴 영화는 “골든 슬럼버”입니다.
주인공 건우는 하루 하루 힘들게 살아가지만 정직하게 살고자 노력하는 택백기사로 우연히 유명 여배우가 강도를 당하는 현장을 목격하고 도와주면서 유명세를 타게 됩니다.
극중 건우의 착함(?) 또는 어리숙함을 이용하여 대선 유력 정치인을 암살하고 은폐하려는 음모가 진행되는데요…
정부의 일부 조직에서 만들어낸 시나리오에 따른 사건의 발생과 언론에서 보도되는 내용들의 통제 등으로 일반인들 뿐만 아니라 건우의 주변 사람들도 거짓 정보를 진실로 받아들이게 됩니다.
가족도 친구도 믿을 수 없는 상황에서 살기 위해 나를 이용했던 전직 조직원과도 손을 잡아야 하는 상황도 발생하게 됩니다.
그러나 다행인 것은 그를 도와 줄 수 있고 끝까지 믿음을 주었던 “친구들”이 있었기에 가능한 일들이 벌어지는데요.
이 영화 “골든 슬럼버”는 일본의 소설이 원작이며 이미 일본에서 영화로 상영이 되었던 작품을 한국식으로 리메이커 된 작품입니다.
영화의 제목이면서 영화 속 주인공과 친구들을 연결해 주는 그들만의 이야기인 꿈 많은 BAND 시절의 “Golden Slumber” 는 비틀즈의 <Abbey Road, 1969> 앨범에 수록된 곡입니다.
주인공 건우가 늘 그리워하는 친구들과의 꿈으로 가득했던 시절을 대표하는 음악이며 추억이 함께하며 친구들과의 공통점이 되는 열쇠 같은 역할을 하고 있습니다.
주인공 건우가 믿을 수 있는 것은 변함없이 기억된 그 노랫가락 속에 스며든 자신만의 추억과 기억된 친구들에 대한 이야기와 믿음이지 않았을까요?
비록 영화 속 이야기지만,
일상에서 제공되는 포털사이트의 실시간 검색이나 노출되는 뉴스에 의한 유도된 관심사에 의해 일반인들의 군중심리가 만들어지고 그것이 사실화 되어 가는건 지금의 현실 세계에서 계속 되고 있는 것이 아닌지 의문도 제기해 봅니다.
영화를 본 관객들은 “강동원”을 위한 영화라고 같은 말을 하는 것을 볼 수 있었습니다. 많은 관객을 입소문으로 몰고 올 수 있었던 것도 바로 강동원이라는 배우의 네임 밸류가 아닌가 합니다.
원작인 소설과 일본영화, 한국영화를 서로 비교하며 볼 수 있는 “골든 슬럼버”, 배우 강동원을 좋아하시는 분이라면 놓치지 마시기 바랍니다.
