STAR ART MUSEUM 전시회 세 번째 화가를 소개합니다.
자신의 몸과 이미지를 망가뜨리며 관객들에게 웃음을 선사하기 위하여 노력하시는 분들이 있습니다.
일명 코미디언, 개그맨 그리고 배우들 중에는 코믹 연기를 위주로 하시는 분들이 그러한데요.
이번에 소개해 드릴 화가는 개그맨 임혁필입니다.

뜬금없이 개그맨이 무슨 그림을…? 이라고 생각하실 수 있겠지만, 임혁필 화가의 프로필을 보시면 원래 그림을 전공한 미술학도임을 아실 수 있습니다.

이렇듯 세상에 비추어진 한 사람의 단면만을 보고 그 사람의 모든 것을 보았다고 생각하게 되는 것이 현대 사회의 미디어의 맹점이기도 하다고 봅니다.
TV에 나오는 연애인들을 실물로 볼 때, 그 모습이나 분위기가 화면에서와 많이 다르다는 것을 경험해 보신 분들은 아실 텐데요.
화가 임혁필도 개그맨으로서의 자신의 연기에 충실했기 때문에 실제 생활에서 비추어질 본 모습과 지금의 화가라는 모습 또한 생소하게 비칠 수 있다고 생각됩니다.
필자가 만나 본 화가 임혁필의 첫 인상은 차분하고 딸과 함께 전시장을 지키며 딸바보 이미지를 풍겨주는 자상한 아빠의 모습 그대로였습니다.
작품을 설명하는 과정에서 그가 개인적으로 겪었을 개그맨으로서 그리고 방송과 사회생활에서 받았을 차별 또는 고뇌의 기운도 함께 느끼게 되었는데요.

위 사진은 지금의 40대 이상이 볼 수 있었던 “마징가Z”라는 애니메이션입니다.
여러분들은 저 마징가Z를 보시면 생각 나는게 무엇인가요? 분명 주인공인 마징가Z는 생각나겠지만,
지금은 잘 모르는, 그러나 기억의 어느 곳엔가 있을 “보스로봇”이 자리잡고 있을 수 있습니다.
주인공 마징가Z가 위기에 처해 있을 때 보스로봇과 같은 친구가 나타나 도와주기도 하지요.
이렇듯 작가는 1등만 기억하게 되는 세상의 풍토를 비판하고, 세상 모든 사람들이 기죽지 말고 모두가 자신의 인생에서 주인공이며, 다들 그렇게 열심히 살고 있다는 메시지를 어릴 때 본 만화 속 주인공을 통하여 전달하고 있었습니다.
하나의 소재로 단순한 카툰의 이미지를 넘어 관념적 이미지를 내보이는 작품과 함께 평소 즐기는 드로잉 작품도 볼 수 있었습니다.
7년여간 공연 후 지금은 잠시 휴식기를 가지고 있다는 화가 임혁필, 최근 행복한 가족의 모습을 TV를 통해 보여주고 있는데요.
가정의 행복과 가족의 사랑을 통하여 보다 더 즐거운 모습을 대중과 함께 나누었으면 합니다.
