영화 “꾼”

아쉬운 반전의 묘미…그러나 볼만했다.

2017년 겨울 좋은 영화들이 한 편, 두 편 극장가를 휩쓸고 있습니다.

그 중 “현빈”의 얼굴을 앞세우고 탄탄한 내용과 반전으로 사람들의 사랑을 받은 영화가 있는데요.

바로 “꾼” 입니다.

힘 있는 권력자들 사이에 놀아난 일반 서민들이 누군가의 뒤통수를 때리기 위하여 오랜 기간 치밀한 작전을 바탕으로 나쁜 놈들에 대한 사기극을 벌이는 내용.

단순 할 것 같으나, 희대의 사기꾼 조두순 사건을 비롯하여 수 많은 영화에 등장했던 비리 정치인들과 권력의 핵심 검사와의 모종의 거래, 또 거기에서 벌어지는 여러가지 음모…그로 인하여 피해를 당하는 일반 시민들의 복수와 권리 회복을 위한 작전.

이 영화의 가장 묘미라고 할 수 있는 부분이 바로 반전을 통해 영화속 인물이나 관객들에게 뒤통수를 때려야 하는 부분들인데요.

이런 반전의 묘미가 있는 영화를 생각하다 보면 가장 먼저 떠오르게 되는 영화가 바로

식스센스, 유즈얼서스팩트, 저수지의 개들과 같은 대표적인 반전 영화를 떠올리게 마련 입니다.

이런 영화들의 특징을 보자면 정말 반전의 내용을 끝까지 숨기며 관객들이 영화가 끝났음에도 사실을 인정하기 싫은…..아니 다시 한 번 영화를 되감기하며 이야기 해보아야 하는 그런 영화가 아닌가 합니다.

그러나 영화 “꾼”에서 가장 많이 아쉬운 점이 있었다면 다른 무엇보다 이야기의 플롯을 너무 교과서적으로 따르지 않았나 하는 부분 입니다.

즉, 주인공과 아버지와의 대화에서 죽음과 복수를 이미 암시하게 된다던가…반전이 이미 예견 되는 몇몇 장면에서 그 결과를 보고도 관객들은 크게 놀라거나 동요하지는 않았다는 것 입니다.

여러가지 이미 많은 영화에서 다루었던 소재가 복합되어 조금은 식상해 질 수 있는 스토리이지만, 빠른 전개와 현빈을 비롯한 각 배격을 맡은 배우들의 연기가 영화를 흥행의 성공으로 이끈 것으로 판단 됩니다.

그 상황전개와 스크롤이 뻔한 이야기를 조금이나마 “재미”라는 요소와 “현빈”과 이미 잘 알려진 “연기파 조연들”의 연기로 살려냈다는 것 입니다.

오션스11,12,13 과 같은 블랙코메디적인 요소를 섞어 이미 예견된 반전이나 속임수에도 불구하고 새로운 예측 불가한 상황에 사람들을 웃게 만들었어도 오히려 효과가 더 좋지 않았을까 하는 아쉬움도 남습니다

조금의 아쉬움을 남긴 내용이였으나 이미 영화는 성공을 거두었고, 앞으로 명절마다 케이블 방송을 통하여 꾸준히 보게 될 영화 중 한 편이 될 것으로 보입니다.
