메모의 중요성은 모두들 아실겁니다.
뭐든 기록하는 것을 습관화 하고 더 잘 정리하고 싶은 욕구는 누구에게든 있을 수 있는데요.
 
연말이면 내년의 다이어리를 선물로 받거나 새로운 다이어리에 눈이 돌아가는 것은 바로 그런 이유에서 일거라 봅니다.
 
최근 환경문제에 대한 관심으로 자연을 훼손하지 않는 방법들을 많이 찾고 있습니다.
 
종이를 아끼는 방법도 그 한가지로 수 많은 나무의 무차별적인 벌목을 막고 자연을 보존할 수 있는 방법의 하나라 다들 인식하고 있습니다.
 
그래서 전자책, 전자노트 등 기록에 관하여 종이보다 낭비가 적으면서 보존이 용이한 방법을 많이 연구하고 있는데요.
 
최근 부기보드(다양한 제품을 이렇게 대표적으로 부르기도 합니다. 제록스가 복사기를 일컫듯)나 전자메모, 전자노트라는 이름의 제품들이 많아지고 있습니다.
 
사람들마다 그 정도는 다르겠지만, 많은 사람들이 아이패드 프로에 애플펜슬로 또는 갤럭시탭의 S펜으로 노트를 해보는 것을 원하지만 사실 가격적인 측면에서 부담이 되지 않을 수 없습니다. 그렇다보니 쉽게 접근하기 힘든데요.
 
이러한 욕구의 대체품이 될 수도 있는 전자노트 하나를 구입하여 이용해 보았습니다.
 
바로 스마트기기 전문업체에서 엠피지오의 스케치몬 10 프로 입니다.

기자는 그 동안 비슷한 제품으로 간단한 필기를 대체하고 저장이 되고 부분삭제가 되는 제품을 기다리고 있던 터였습니다.
 
얼마전까지 눈에 띄지 않던 제품이기에 부분삭제 기능에 매료되어 제품을 구입하게 되었는데요.
 
일단 전체적인 기능부터 살펴보겠습니다.
 
현재 제품은 10인치 LCD 제품으로 크기는 10인티 태블릿PC 정도의 크기로 보시면 됩니다.
제원에서 보여주듯 무게는 약 131g 으로 들고 다니든 서류가방에 하나 더 끼워넣고 다녀도 큰 무게감이 느껴지지 않을 정도 입니다.

필기에서 가장 신경 쓰이는 부분인 필기감은 종이에 필기하는 것 보다 부드럽게 느껴집니다. 종이에 필기하는 경우에도 볼펜이나 연필 등 필기구의 종류에 따라 그 필기감은 달라지기 마련인데요.
 
전용 펜을 이용하는 경우나 다른 도구(다쓴 굵은 볼펜이나 다른 스타일러스펜)을 사용하더라도 비슷한 질감을 전달해 주었습니다.

이런 전자노트의 경우 아직 필기시 굵기가 가늘지는 못한데요.
사진에서 보는 것 처럼 여러 단계로 힘을 조절하여 필기를 해 보았을 때 번짐(?) 현상에 조금씩 차이를 보이고 있습니다.
 
일반적으로 0.5~1.0 mm 내외의 볼펜 등의 필기구를 사용한다고 가정 할 때, 지금 보이는 전자노트의 선의 굵기는 그것 보다 더 굵으며 이런 종류의 LCD 판넬을 이용한 전자노트의 경우 가격에 맞추어 제품을 내놓기에 얇은 글씨체를 기대하기에는 무리가 있어 보입니다.

이 제품에서 무엇보다 궁금했던 것은 바로 기존엔 없었던 “부분삭제” 기능입니다.
 
부분삭제 버튼을 1-2-3회 누르면 LED 불빛이 버튼을 누른 회수 만큼 반짝이며 현재의 모드를 나타내고 있습니다. 부분삭제를 한 후 필기모드로 돌아가기 위해서는 전체삭제 버튼을 한 번 눌러주시면 됩니다.(전체삭제는 삭제버튼을 두 번 연속 누르면 삭제 됩니다.)

부분삭제는 버튼을 1회에서 3회 누르는 만큼 그 지워지는 강도를 높여주고 있습니다.
사진에서 보이는 것 처럼 부분삭제를 3회 누른 후 지우기를 해보면 흔적을 찾기 힘들 만큼 잘 지워지는 것을 확인 할 수 있습니다.
 
메모를 하다 틀린 부분이 생길 경우 전체를 삭제하지 않고 부분만 삭제 할 수 있기에 매력적인 기능이 아닐 수 없습니다.
 
그러나 한가지 아쉬운 점은 부분제거 기능을 사용하기 위해 부분제거 버튼을 누르는 순간 기존의 메모들이 조금 어두어집니다. 이는 부분제거를 다 하고 쓰기기능으로 다시 복귀를 하더라도 새로 쓴 글씨와 그 밝기의 차이를 보이고 있습니다. 기존 글씨는 조금 더 어둡게 새로 쓴 글씨는 원래의 밝기로 보이고 있습니다.
 
저장과 관련해서 현재 비슷한 종류의 제품들도 마찬가지로 스마트폰의 카메라로 사진을 찍어 저장을 따로 해야하며 사진을 찍는 경우 주변의 조명 등 빛으로 인한 반사도 고려하여야 하는 등 불편함은 감수해야 했습니다.

스케치몬을 기존의 용도로 사용하기 위해 며칠 사용해 본 결과, 사용자가 일반적으로 펜을 사용하는 노트 등 정리가 필요하고 세밀한 필기와 중요한 기록에는 적합하지 않는 것으로 확인이 됩니다.
 
그러나 우리가 포스트잇, 전화메모, 이면지를 활용하는 연습장이나 아이들의 학습 등 썼다 지웠다를 반복해야 하는 종류의 경우 매우 유용했습니다.
 
아이패드 대용을 생각하도록 하는 광고성 글들이 많지만 그 정도는 아닌 것으로 보입니다.
물론 사용자의 사용용도에 따라 그 가치는 달라지며 취향의 문제로 보입니다.
 
 
1~2만원 이라는 제품의 가격을 생각하면 집에 하나 정도 마련해 두고 여러가지 메모 또는 연습장 용도로 사용하는 것은 괜찮을거라 여겨집니다.
