‘2020 부산국제모터쇼’ 취소

오는 5월 28 ~ 6월 7일 열릴 예정이던 부산국제모터쇼가 취소가 되었다는 소식입니다.
서울모터쇼와 함께 격년으로 열리는 자동차를 사랑하는 많은 사람들이 손꼽아 기다리는 국내 모터쇼 중의 하나인데요.
코로나19 사태로 정상적인 개최에 대한 많은 이야기가 나오고 있던 가운데, 코로나19 전염의 심각성과 여론에 따라 불참하는 업체들이 늘어난 것도 그 원인 중 하나로 파악됩니다.
코로나19에 대한 염려가 가시지 않은 시점에 부산국제모터쇼 사무국에서는 예정대로 행사를 개최한다는 입장을 굽히지 않았으나 세계적인 대유행(팬데믹)이 된 코로나19 확산에 사람들이 모이는 행사를 주체한다는 비난 여론이 쏟아지자 이와 같은 결정을 한 것으로 보입니다.
좋은 행사도 좋지만 지금과 같은 때에 위험을 증가시키는 행위나 기타의 방법은 지양되어야 할 것입니다.
자동차 마니아들에게 아쉬운 소식일 수 있지만 그 결정이 더 큰 의미에서 이번 코로나19 사태를 함께 이겨나갈 방법이라 여긴다면 오히려 반가운 소식이 아닐 수 없습니다.
세계 3대 모터쇼인 미국의 디트로이트 모터쇼와 베이징, 제네바 모터쇼 등이 이미 취소된 상황을 생각한다면 부산국제모터쇼의 취소 또한 당연한 것으로 보입니다.
부산국제모터쇼 사무국은 공식 홈페이지에 취소 공지를 통하여 국민들의 건강을 생각하는 마음과 코로나19 사태의 조속한 마무리를 기원하며 2022년 행사를 기약하는 메시지를 남기고 있습니다.
