12월 25일 크리스마스와 함께 트랜스포머 스핀오프 “범블비”가 개봉하였습니다.
 
개봉전부터 많은 화제가 되었으며 영화 범블비가 과연 끝을 치닷고 있는 트랜스포머의 내용에 어떠한 의미가 될 수 있는지 궁금증을 나으며 이제 트랜스포머도 끝이 났다는 소리도 들렸었는데요.
 
2007년 처음 트랜스포머가 선보였던 때부터 지금까지 마이클 베이 감독은 작은 장난감 완구로 부터 시작되었을 이 영화에 관객이 상상할 수 있는 그 이상의 것을 스크린을 통하여 전달해 주었습니다.
 
“트랜스포머_최후의 기사”까지 빠지지 않고 영화를 다 보신 분들이라면 잘 아시겠지만, 시간이 지날수록 그 내용과 범위가 안드로메다 어딘가로 우리의 개념을 뛰어 넘고 있습니다.
 
영화 범블비는 이렇게 브레이크 없이 질주하고 있는 트랜스포머에 브레이크를 걸어주고 살짝 열도 식혀주는 고속도로의 휴게소 같은 느낌입니다.
 
지금까지의 트랜스포머가 디지털적인 감성이였다면 범블비는 1987년을 배경으로 조금은 아날로그적인 감성을 전달하고 있습니다.
 
외계 로봇이 출연하고 SF효과 가득한데 아날로그적이라는 표현이 쌩뚱맞을 수 있지만, 약 30년의 시간을 거슬러가며 그 시대에서 보여 줄 수 있는 배경과 내용 등을 생각하면 그 의미를 이해할 수 있을 것입니다.
 
정신없이 펼쳐지는 액션의 향연에 익숙해진 기존 트랜스포머의 팬들이라면 적응이 힘들 수 있지만, 영화 범블비는 다른 트랜스포머에서는 해주지 못한 여러가지 이야기를 전달해 주고자 애쓰고 있습니다.
 
그 동안 2시간이 넘는 장편의 CF를 본 느낌이라면, 범블비는 이야기를 듣는 것 처럼 드라마적 요소를 그나마 잘 갖추고 있습니다.
 
영화 개봉전 걱정스런 이야기들이 나돌던 것과는 달리 영화를 보면 “괜찮다”, “좋다”는 관객들의 반응도 살필 수 있었는데요. 크리스마스에 개봉하며 가족단위 관객들로 많은 사랑을 받으며 출발하고 있습니다.
