자동차 처럼 밀폐된 공간에서 세균, 곰팡이가 더 많이 있다는 사실을 아시나요?

이미 언론 등을 통하여 많이 접해 본 내용 중 하나일텐데요.

소리와 냄새도 없이 우리의 몸을 공격하는 온갖 세균들이 득실거리고, 우리 몸에 원인을 알 수 없는 이상 징후를 보내기도 합니다.

오래된 자동차나 관리가 잘 되지 않은 자동차에서 특이한 냄새를 발생시켜 기분도 나쁘게 만들고 건강을 해치기도 합니다.

이런 경우 이미 단순한 예방 조치를 취하기에는 늦은 경우가 대부분인데요.

실내 청소를 하고 아무리 페브**을 뿌리고 좋다는 방향제를 써도 은근히 남아 있는 이 찝찝한 냄새의 근원은 바로 자동차의 전면을 다 차지하고 있다고 해도 과언이 아닌 공조기에서 발생되고 있다고 보셔도 될 것 입니다.

공조기는 위의 사진과 같이 우리가 자동차 안에서 숨쉬는 공기를 정화하고 순환 시켜주며 온/냉 공기의 온도까지 조절하여 쾌적한 실내 환경을 만들어야 하는 아주 중요한 부분 입니다.

자동차의 앞쪽에 아주 잘 감추어져 있기에 일상에서 그 중요성을 가끔 잊어 버리고 지내기도 합니다.

예전에 탤런트 고현정씨가 자동차의 히터를 통한 공기가 건조하여 피부를 망치니 조심해야 한다고 조언을 해주며 자신의 피부관리 노하우를 전해 주기도 했는데요.

아무리 잘 만들어진 기계일지라도 우리가 모르는 사이에 우리 몸에 많은 영향을 끼치고 있는 것이 사실 입니다.

그래서 오늘은 계절이 바뀌기도 하였기에 필자가 직접 공조기를 청소해 보기로 마음 먹었습니다.

공조기의 기본적인 구조와 청소 방법은 많은 에바클리너 사용법을 통하여 쉽게 구할 수 있습니다.

필자도 IPO라는 제품을 인터넷을 통하여 구입을 하고 에바클린 작업을 시작 하였습니다.

기본적으로 송풍구를 통하여 이상한 냄새가 난다고 생각이 되면 대부분 에어컨을 작동 시키는 에바포레이터 (증발기)에 서식하게 되는 곰팡이 등으로 인한 경우라고 판단하면 될 것 같습니다.

또 밖에서 부터 들어오는 냄새들도 있는데, 이러한 경우 시간이 지나고 그 지역을 벗어나면 없어지나, 공조기 내부에서 나게 되는 냄새는 계속해서 우리의 코를 자극하게 됩니다.

위 사진에서 보는 것과 같이 대부분의 자동차 조수석 발위치 윗 부분에 외부/내부/ 공기를 히터/에어컨을 통하여 다시 실내로 들어오게끔 바람을 불어 넣어주는 블로워 모터가 존재 합니다.

이 모터는 외부/내부의 공기가 들어와 회전하는 날개를 통하여 공조기 내부로 공기가 이동하게 됩니다.

에어컨 필터 다음으로 공기들과 마찰이 매우 크다고 볼 수 있습니다.

위 사진과 같이 블로워 모터를 탈거하면 모터 부분과 바람개비 부분이 드러납니다.

이미 육안으로 봐서도 알겠지만 그 동안 쌓여서 입으로 바람을 불어도 날아가지 않고 붙어 있는 먼지들을 확인 할 수 있습니다.

해당 부품을 탈거하고 각종 세제와 그것도 모자라 치솔모를 사용하여 때를 벗겨내고 있습니다.

상상이 가시나요? 여러분의 차가 아무리 깨끗하다 하더라도 이미 몇년 타고 다닌 자동차라면 그런 바람개비가 내가 마실 공기를 뿜어내어 주고 있었다는 사실을…?

이렇게 블로워 모터의 청소를 끝내고 재결합을 하고 나면, 거품식 세척제를 이용하여 “에바”에 세척액을 주입하고 세척되는 과정을 반복하여야 합니다.

세척을 시작하게 되면, 설명서에 나와 있는 방법에 따라 절차를 시행하면 모든 것이 순조롭게 됩니다.

다만, 이베포레이터로 세척엑이 들어가게 하기 위하여 공조기의 특정 부분에 구멍을 뚫어 약품을 주입 할 구멍을 만들어야 합니다. 

이런 구멍을 뚫는게 일반적인 가정에서는 쉽지만은 않으며, 각 차종별 위치에 따라 다른 기계에 손상을 줄 염려 등이 있으니 충분한 사진 자료와 설명서 및 기타 다른 분들의 DIY 자료를 활용하여 실수를 최소화 하시기 바랍니다.

세척이 끝난 후 히터를 틀거나 공조기를 작동 시킬 때 나쁜 냄새는 나지 않았습니다.

이러한 공조기의 위생 상태에 관련한 사항은 실험 대상인 마티즈 만의 문제가 아니라 수억원짜리 자동차도 기본적으로 동일한 문제를 안고 있습니다.

최근 나오는 자동차들은 이런 세균과 냄새로 부터 자유롭고자 공조기에 “이오나이저”를 장착하여 냄새 등을 잡고 있습니다.

하지만, 이러한 것 만으로는 먼지 등 인체에 해로운 것들로 부터 완전히 자유로울 순 없을 것으로 판단 됩니다. 

 

이젠 없어서는 안될 생활의 필수인 자동차.

우리의 몸과 늘 함께 하기에 보이지 않는 곳까지 잘 관리하는 것이 중요합니다.

오늘은 에어컨의 냄새와 관련하여 에바클리닝 작업을 소개해 드렸습니다.
